Is that Portland or old Bavaria?! Well, it's Portland, but it's a pretty great spot in Portland: the wonderful Rheinlander German restaurant. Several years ago, at the end of my regency year it was the site of my going-away party - and last night, the Rheinlander hosted a similar party for Fr. Jim Gallagher, CSC. It seemed the perfect spot, as Jim is in fact German, and several of us have enjoyed his company on yearly trips to the Oktoberfest in Mt. Angel Oregon. More pictures of the evening will follow, but we had a great night of food, beer and song.
